I have been collecting Vietnam banknotes out of pure passion since 1985 circa, the coins arrived later. Currently the banknotes are all the same, no update. They are the same since their issue in 2003 (50 mila & 500 Mila Dong).
The only difference is found on the date which is incorporated into the serial number, the first two numbers. Same goes for coins, stop at 2003 for the legal tender series which was never accepted by the Viet population due to various problems related to inflation and the small size of both the denomination and size .
As regards commemorative silver coins we only have to take a few steps forward and we stop at 2006, the last coin minted is that of the FIFA Football World Cup 2006 Germania.
Unfortunately, the creation of the 1000 euro banknote was not successful 70 Dong to commemorate the 70 years of the National Bank, it would have given a breath of fresh air to a collection that had been stagnant for some time, too much time.
